Getting busy with the echidnas

We went to Healesville Sanctuary on the weekend. The echidnas had new straw and were busy busy busy digging, bulldozing and waddling about,

oblivious to the gaze of a size-one boy in size-three shorts.

They're the inspiration for my first freezer-paper stencil design. I'm joining Hoppo Bumpo and her Merry Horde in the freezer-paper stencil-along. Now, where to find a clean shirt?

The clean shirt matter is proving surprisingly difficult. Where in Melbourne can I find inexpensive plain coloured t-shirts for kids? I've looked in Target but they all have prints on them. Any suggestions, folks?

Update: Thanks for the t-shirt suggestions, I went back to Target and found them there after all, and on sale, no less! Not in our size, which is why I missed them before, but since he's already wearing size three shorts I went for a large t-shirt to match :)

I love your design! Its going to look excellent on a size 3 shirt .... er, when you find one!

That's a pity about Target, as usually they come up trumps for plain boys' tees and skivvies (I've bought a few in size 1 to 3 this year for applique). You might have some luck at Big W or even somewhere like Best And Less?

Thanks HB! there's a best and Less near us, so I'll give them a try. Fingers crossed!

How about TSL (The Stock Liquidator) in either Smith St, Collingwood or Chapel Street, Prahran? They have bonds singlets and t-shirts etc. They could be worth a try.
Or American apparel in Chapel St or online http://www.americanapparel.net/storelocations/Details.aspx?RetailStoreID=262&lang=pri
I hope this helps.
I love your echidna, by the way.
