I made myself this satchel using the Nicole Mallalieu Design Large Tote and Satchel pattern. The image on the flap is from a vintage children's science book.
The inside pocket and underside of flap are a Fat Quarter I've been hoarding since last year's quilt fair, with a design of moths, crickets and mini-beasts.It's big enough for my wallet-keys-phone, the Bug's wipes-nappy-drink, and still enough space for cash register receipts, old shopping lists and fluff.
I carried it proudly into a swanky boutique on Chapel Street this afternoon, and was so pleased with my sartorial style that I managed to buy myself a posh frock. Ace pattern, Nikki!

Hey - that looks amazing! How did you do the print?
I couldn't see the last two photos in this post, but the first two looked great.
Thanks Nikki! I used Inspired Coloured t-shirt transfers. You just print on an ink-jet printer and iron on.
Hmmm. I actually only posted two images, but Internet Explorer thinks I posted four. I'm recommending using Firefox to look at this blogger site, it is really dodgy-looking on Explorer :(
The bag looks great! Great idea with the transfers :D
it looks great! well done!
What a beautiful satchel. I would take it shopping somewhere posh too!
Good to hear it has enough room for bits of paper and fluff. I like to store a handful of old sultanas at the bottom of my bags too!!
