Step 2: Baste front to back. That's it!
I managed to do this without sewing Maisy in, and, unlike last time, without basting everything to the rug underneath.
Now I'm ready to start quilting. I've decided to try a quilting hoop, mainly to make it easy to put everything away at short notice, then pick it up again and work out what I was up to. That's the way our household runs.

great fabric...i tried hand quilting once...never again...i'm all for quick gratification...i like to finish something in only a couple of days...i think thats why my quilt took so long...

i have to admit that when I saw the shrinkage in step #1, I did laugh. That stuff always seems to happen to me.
