Somewhat bleary-eyed yesterday morning, I was pre-washing some red fabric. I always add some cooking salt to a red wash to prevent the dye from running.
Only this time I accidently added dessicated coconut instead. The packets looked the same. It was white and flakey...
It took me a long time to get the coconut out of the washing machine!
Do you have any sewing bloopers? share them here!

If that happened to me I don't know if I would laugh or cry! Its bad enough washing clothes with tissues in pockets. Makes a mess of the machine! Mr S also leaves bolts etc in pockets I am sure he will kill my machine one day!
Well coconut does look like salt flakes so easy mistake! lol...
Oh my! (Love the startled coconut, BTW)
My DH doesn't do the laundry. Anymore. Way back when, he would occasionally throw in a load and almost always I would sigh as I lint-brushed the dark clothing that had been washed with a white towel. The last straw was a load of whites that came out pink. Well, it was a red and white skirt. If it has white in it it goes in with the whites, right? Um, no.
Commiserations on getting the coconut out of the machine.
Oh, thats so funny! And thanks for the tip - salt in the red's from now on!
only that I need to sew.
