Paleontologists have suggested that the Triceratops is not a seperate species, but actually the adolescent of the Torosaurus. Now, personally, I don't think the Torosaurus has the same iconographic punch as the Triceratops. And besides, the name Triceratops is much more useful for people learning Beginners' Ancient Greek.
In this Australian Election Week I can feel a different poll coming on. Triceratops or Torosaurus, which do you prefer? Head over to my right sidebar, under my profile, and cast your vote. If we get enough votes perhaps we can make one of them our next Prime Minister!

Why can't the Torosaurus be an adult form of a Triceratops rather than the otherway around. Who knows anything about Torosauruses (maybe someone with a 4+ year old son - which isn't me)?
My 6 year old just spent last term doing dinosaurs and she has never even heard of a torosaurus - nor have I! I vote for triceratops!
no.... they can't just change it because some scientist says so... what is the world coming to. What about 'The Land Before Time', you can't tell me they are going to re-release all those cartoons and movie with the correct title of these creatures? We need to make a stand - I vote triceratops!!
They cant get rid of the triceratops. This was one of the first words my nephew could say when he got his hearing back. Besides they are part of my favourite trio - triceratops, stegasaurus and diplocodus.
