My Creative Space: Troubling Triangles

I still haven't decided on the final design for my HST vintage sheet quilt. When I posted these HST layout ideas in my creative space, your feedback helped me narrow down my choices.

I liked the zig zag, but was slightly troubled- it kept reminding me of Charlie Brown's shirt. When I asked Mister Bell what he thought, he said "It looks like that guy's shirt. Confirmed.

The pinwheels are very sweet, but they look a little disordered and crowded in this picture. Perhaps they need some sashing like this lovely one by BethanyDA.

I like the white space and the sense of structure in this one... but I like the idea of pinwheels....and yet, when I look at them...?

And I laid out this one for fun. And I like it too!

So I still haven't decided... I welcome your thoughts once again!

Wow, how are you going to decide? At first I liked the pinwheels, but I can't decide when I really look at all three of them. I like the slightly off kilter look of the second one though, since the diamond isn't centered....okay, so after all that babbling that's the one like the best!

These all look great but the sashing around the pinwheels does look very smart. Your blog is lovely and I lurk regularly. I hope you don't mind that I'm venturing an opinion in my first comment!

They all look gorgeous!! I don't think it would matter which you decided on as the fabric is gorgeous. However, as you asked for an opinion, I would go the pinwheels.

Pinwheels, definitely pinwheels - it just looks gorgeous.

I like the second one. I could be biased though because it reminds me of log cabin quilts and i'm crazy about log cabins.

I'm digging number two - because it's the exact same layout I opted for in my half-square triangle quilt top! (I've sashed it but gone no further, procrastinating with the basting!). The asymmetry seems to bother some, but I love how it brings out the fabrics. Still, I have to agree that the pinwheels do look good.

Definitely pinwheels with sashing. The white space will look gorgeous. Looking forward to seeing the finished product whichever way you go.:)

I like the pinwheels...but since I've never made a quilt in my life I'm probably not that much help :-)

I really like the middle one. I like the fact that is is slightly off centre.

I love them all but I like the last one the best -

How about sashing that one, every block of four or summat ... ?

I like the look of the pinwheels and my second favourite would be the last design - I think it will look lovely whichever design you choose.

How confusing! They're all beautiful. I wish I could come over and give it a try. The possibilities are endless.
I guess if I had to choose, I would say the pinwheels, but with the sashing. It just gives it that extra little bit of class!

I like the last one Annabelle. It looks so elegant ... and I'm such a stickler for things lining up!

I'm liking the off-centred diamond! Or the last one. Not a fan of the pinwheels and adored the zigzag - but it seems I'm in the minority here!
